Intellectual Property Rights Notice

Unless otherwise indicated, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region ("the Government") is the owner of the intellectual property rights in all contents available on this website, including but not limited to all text, graphics, animations, drawing, diagrams, photographs and sound recordings, films or other materials.

You can, for any personal and non-commercial purpose, freely browse, display, download and print in their original format any materials on this website where the Government is the owner of the intellectual property rights in such materials, provided that you give proper attribution to the Government and reproduce this Intellectual Property Rights Notice in all copies. The Government reserves all rights that are not expressly granted in this Notice. The prior written consent of the Government is required if you want to use the aforesaid materials in any way other than that permitted above. Such requests should be addressed to Social Welfare Department via email at mcor@swd.gov.hk.

Where a third party is the owner of intellectual property rights in any contents available on this website, an appropriate intellectual property rights notice of the third party will appear in this website. For the avoidance of doubt, the permission in the second paragraph does not extend to any materials on the linked websites or any contents on this website, the intellectual property rights of which belongs to a third party. Privacy Policy

The Government is concerned to ensure that all personal data submitted through this website are handled in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.

Upon the requests of users, the Government collects information for the purpose of delivering e-cards. The Government shall collect mandatory information including recipients' email addresses, senders' names, senders' email addresses and personal messages. Users can submit optional information including recipient names (if applicable) to be delivered with the e-cards. Any e-cards sent out shall be available for public access for 60 days. In this regard, the submitted information shall be kept in our database for 60 days after relevant e-cards have been sent out. The information shall be deleted after the period. We will not use the information submitted for any other purposes except sending out e-cards for senders and retrieving e-cards for recipients.

Unless permitted or required by law, the Government will not disclose your information submitted to any third parties without your prior consent.

Unless provided otherwise, the Government will record visits to this website without collecting any personal identifiable information of users. Such general information is only collected for the compilation of statistical reports and the diagnosis of problems with or concerning computer systems to help improve this website.

When you browse this website, cookies will be stored in your computer's hard drive. Cookies are used to enhance user's web browsing. The Government will not collect any personal data from you under this circumstance. You have a choice not to accept the cookies. If you do not accept cookies, certain functionality may not be available.

This website hosts an e-card platform for users to send out e-cards. The sender provides the sender name, sender email, recipient email and/or recipient name and/or personal message (if applicable) to the Government. The information provided by the sender is neither given nor endorsed by the Government. The Government does not represent or warrant the accuracy, completeness and appropriateness of the information provided by the sender, and accept any responsibility for any loss or damages incurred and associated with the information.
