Let Them Shine Gala 2013

The annual territory-wide publicity event, Let Them Shine Gala 2013 was successfully held from 22-24 November 2013 aiming at promotion of public understanding and acceptance of the diversified abilities of persons with disabilities by demonstrating their services and products so as to provide them with equal work opportunities and facilitate their integration into the community.

The Ceremony of the event was held on 22 November, 2013 at 3:30p.m., Deputy Director of Social Welfare (Services), Mr Lam Ka-tai, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Enhancing Employment of People with Disabilities, Mr Ivan Ho, Chairman of the Support the Employment of People with Disabilities Limited (SEPD), Ms Catherine Wong and Chairperson of the Rehabilitation Advisory Committee, Mr Herman Hui, BBS, MH, JP officiated the Launching Ceremony of SEPD Social Media.

The "I Like SEPD" Campaign at Social Media and Mobile App was officially launched at the same time. By simply giving a "LIKE" to the SEPD Facebook Page or download the Let Them Shine Gourmet Mobile App, participants will be given a coffee coupon to enjoy hot coffee at cafes funded by the "Enhancing Employment of People with Disabilities Through Small Enterprise" Project on first come first serve basis.

Besides, a corsage DIY session was held to foster social inclusion of persons with disabilities.

Renowned disabled dancer who starred in popular movie "The Way We Dance", Mr Tommy Guns LY, also staged a performance at the Gala to show the infinite potential of persons with disabilities.

Over 10 vocational rehabilitation agencies participating in exhibition and promotional sales booth was set up to showcase the services and products of persons with disabilities.
