"Outstanding Disabled Employee" Award Ceremony cum "Let Them Shine Partner" Award Presentation

Deputy Director of Social Welfare, Mr Lam Ka-tai, and Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Enhancing Employment of People with Disabilities, Mr Ivan Ho, have jointly officiated at the "Outstanding Disabled Employee" Award Ceremony cum "Let Them Shine Partner"Award Presentation on 1st December 2015.

The Social Welfare Department subvents Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs) to provide vocational rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities to help them develop their potentials for moving towards self-reliance and integration into the community. Over the years, many persons with disabilities have been successfully engaged in open employment and become valuable human resources of the community.

In order to enhance public understanding of the work ability of persons with disabilities, the office launched the "Outstanding Disabled Employee" Program to recognize the contribution of disabled employees to the society and enhance their employment opportunities. Together with this is the "Let Them Shine Partner" Program which aimed to offer recognition to the contribution of companies in support of the employment of persons with disabilities.

At the ceremony, trophies were presented to the nine "Outstanding Disabled Employees" and nine awarded "Let Them Shine Partners". Recognition will also be given to NGOs for their dedication to support the employment of persons with disabilities.
