The event was organised by the Central Western, Southern and Island Co-ordinating Committee on Rehabilitation Service of the Social Welfare Department. Performances by a music band and a lion dance kicked off the ceremony. Mr KOK Che-leung, Assistant Director (Rehabilitation & Med Social Services), was an officiating guest and delivered an opening speech to thank the carers of persons with disabilities and to show support for persons with disabilities and social enterprises.
A total of 15 subvented vocational rehabilitation organisations and social enterprises funded by “Enhancing Employment of People with Disabilities through Small Enterprise (3E) Project” participated in the event, including but not limited to iBakery, La Vie Bakery and ecotour330. A wide range of products, such as bakery items, handmade ornaments, Chinese Lunar New Year decorations, were displayed to showcase the talent of persons with disabilities.
The Marketing Consultancy Office (Rehabilitation) introduced the 3E Project and the range of products and services provided by the 3E funded social enterprises to members of the public by displaying exhibition panels at the event. The founder of Holy Café Training Centre funded by the 3E Project Mrs SUNG LAW Man-kwan, and her daughter were invited to share their experience on the stage.
